Solar panel installer caught drink-driving
A solar panel installer lost his driver’s license for a month after being caught driving alcohol.
Kyle James McLachlan pleaded guilty to Gladstone Magistrates Court Monday.
The court was told that the 24-year-old was run over shortly before 7 p.m. on February 7 for a breath test during which he blew .077.
Defense attorney Jun Pepito said his client intended to apply for a work permit because his employer relied on him to drive. However, he is not eligible because he did not start work when the crime was committed.
McLachlan was fined $ 600 and banned from driving for a month.
