Extra Solar Panels Put in at ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Attraction

The EPCOT Park at Walt Disney World Resort is currently undergoing major updates to include new attractions for guests to enjoy! One of the newest attractions in the park is Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy movie franchise.

Construction of the highly anticipated attraction was halted when the resort closed due to the ongoing pandemic. However, developments picked up again when the park reopened to guests on July 15th. Now the construction of the Cosmic Rewind attraction is progressing quite well.

At the end of July, solar panel brackets were installed on the outside of the attraction. We recently learned that the panels were assembled and installed on these brackets. This is great news as it can save energy with the help of solar panels.

This is just one of EPCOT’s many transformation projects. Guardians of the Galaxy: The Cosmic Rewind coaster has taken the place of Ellen’s Energy Adventure attraction. The Guardians attraction is also in a newly renovated location. This place will now be known as World Discovery, which seems entirely appropriate to the Guardians of the Galaxy gang. Cosmic Rewind has not received an official opening date. However, due to the setback in construction due to the park’s closure, we think it makes sense to say that this attraction won’t open until 2021.
