SunPower Expands Residential Set up Program
As the demand for solar energy grows across the country, SunPower, a provider of solar technology and energy services, announced plans to expand its SunPower Residential Installation (SPRI) program this year. SunPower plans to start SPRI presence in seven new markets in six states by the end of the second quarter.
With SPRI, local businesses and entrepreneurs can start or expand their solar energy businesses without taking on the complex and wealthy roles often associated with a traditional solar trader business. With SPRI, sales organizations and small businesses can focus on marketing and selling solar energy, while SunPower manages the entire process of rooftop installation, maintenance, and repair, customer service, and warranty. This structure lowers the barrier to entry for those looking to enter the rapidly growing renewable energy sector, provides SunPower with new channels to meet the demands of its rapidly growing customer base, and gives homeowners more options when purchasing solar energy.
Organizations using SPRI are part of the SunPower Network for Non-Installing Dealers. Non-installing dealers gain access to the SunPower platform to market, showcase, design, and sell SunPower systems to homeowners. With SunPower’s turnkey software, non-installed dealers can customize any project from panel placement to financing options.
“With SPRI, we’re expanding the solar category by enabling entrepreneurs to build sales and marketing-centric solar businesses,” said Tony Garzolini, vice president of sales at SunPower. “Our strong dealer network is still the foundation we rely on, but you no longer need to own construction equipment or manage a customer service team to be part of this incredibly exciting industry.”
