Governments taking a look at methods to recycle solar panel waste

Sydney City Councilor Linda Scott says local governments are doing a lot of research on solar panel farm waste to see what can be reused. “As we all know, these panels are made up of a whole range of things, including metals that are particularly recyclable, and of course we don’t want them to be disposed of,” she told Sky News host Paul Murray. Ms. Scott says that considering the end-of-life of the panels is important for planners to think about how the materials can be recycled and whether the land can be reused or trees can be replanted. “The local governments look very carefully, of course we collect so much waste, but we look very carefully for waste from what is apparently a massively booming solar industry in Australia.”
