DNV GL companions with WattTime to provide renewable power customers perception into emissions information
DNV GL and WattTime have jointly announced a strategic partnership to incorporate WattTime’s emissions information into DNV GL’s expertise in energy management and digital services for renewable energy, storage and efficiency. By combining greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) data with energy efficiency, battery charging and discharging, demand response and renewable energies, DNV GL owner’s customers of utility, regulatory, renewal and storage projects can make decisions to get the most impact on to achieve clean energy. WattTime pioneered Automated Emission Reduction (VRE), a software solution that enables smart devices to synchronize their flexible power consumption with times of cleaner generation and avoid times of dirtier energy as well as emissions that calculates the avoided emissions of various renewable energy projects based on where they are and which fossil fuels they displace.

The partnership follows the publication of DNV GL’s Energy Transition Outlook 2020 earlier this month.
